There is nothing wrong with being an independent, but Senator Joe Lieberman’s support of the Iraq War, his campaigning for John McCain in the 2008 election, and his opposition to universal health care have made him one of the most unpopular Senators currently in office, with an approval rating of 25% approve versus 67% who disapprove. Lieberman was once such a prominent Democrat that he ran with Al Gore in the ill-fated 2000 Presidential election, where his candidacy for Vice President probably didn’t help Gore very much. Since that election, Lieberman’s “independent” mindset started swaying more towards the Republican side. He became a staunch support of Bush’s War in Iraq, even after most people realized it was a huge mistake. Since his speech at the 2008 Republican National Convention in which he endorsed John McCain for president, Lieberman’s popularity has taken a big hit with voters. And with good reason, considering his threats to filibuster the health care bill and his picky criticisms of Obama. When it comes down to it, Lieberman may not be a bad person, but he’s definitely a disappointing one.
well sheesh! If you’re registered...Connecticut then don’t vote
