Is it so hard to just take office and do your work? Eliot Spitzer thought so apparently, considering the former Governor of New York was in office for only more than a year before resigning because of a prostitution scandal involving him in 2008. Referred to as “Client-9” in an affidavit filed in U.S. Federal Court, Spitzer had at least seven or eight “meetings” with prostitutes from the Emperors Club VIP over six months, and paid more than $15,000 for their services. Federal agents had him under surveillance twice in 2008, and according to published reports, investigators believe Spitzer paid up to $80,000 for prostitutes over a period of several years. Man, you can tell this guy really likes prostitutes if he’s willing to pay that kind of money for them. Ashley Dupré, an “aspiring singer” who was found to be one of the women he was involved with, later used the attention to go on television, release bad music, and start an advice column (hah!) for the New York Post. Since his resignation, the husband and father of three daughters has kept a relatively low profile, probably spending the majority of his time sleeping on the couch. Smart thinking Eliot!
