Before Osama bin Laden was the biggest enemy of the state, Timothy McVeigh held the esteemed dishonor of being “America’s Most Hated Terrorist”. This Beavis-looking former Army veteran was a self-professed gun addict and heavily into anti-government literature. Getting together with co-conspirator Terry Nichols, the two decided in 1995 to bomb the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City, after being disillusioned by the handling of the Waco siege. It was the deadliest act of terrorism on American soil until 9/11, claiming the lives of 168 innocent victims and injuring more than 680. The blast destroyed or damaged 324 buildings within a sixteen–block radius and was estimated to have caused at least $652 million worth of damage. McVeigh was executed in 2001 at age 33, ending a life that disgraced both America and its military.
